Special need for functional labels
Many companies need retro-reflecting labels which reflect a laser beam and allow for a high-precision measurements. The measurement area shall be surrounded by a print in the form of a ring to limit the measuring area. A label manufacturer is then required, who can produce technically upscale labels in reliable quality and document the traceability of batches.
Requirements to the labeling
An absolutely reliable material in regard to functionality and reflection is required. For printing and die-cutting it must be guaranteed that the round inner area and thereby the measuring area always remains the same. The printing area – the surrounding ring – must not displace in the slightest. The precise die-cutting guarantees for a consistent width of the surrounding printed boundary area. The high ink coverage prevents misreflections and mismeasurements. The labels must adhere safely to different substrates and be removable without residue from delicate surfaces.

The implementation
After the imprint of material the die-cutting is made inline. This means that the whole production is made economically in one machine pass along with the print.
