Right on time at 8:15 AM, we set off on a double-decker bus towards the Black Forest. Breakfast was enjoyed on the bus during the ride to Bad Wildbad. Upon arriving in the idyllic little town, all employees, as well as some retirees, boarded the Sommerbergbahn in bright sunshine to reach the starting point of the “Wildline” on the high plateau of Sommerberg.
The 380-meter-long steel suspension bridge hovers just under 60 meters above the ground and offers a gigantic view over the Black Forest from 300 meters above the valley. The robos-labels team took the path south over the swaying “Wildline” bridge and enjoyed the magnificent panorama. At the end of the suspension bridge, we embarked on an adventurous 1.5-hour descent through the forest. The team successfully made their way through the wilderness over logs and rocks and through tall grass, with everyone arriving unscathed at the bottom.
In the valley, right in the picturesque spa park of the Black Forest town Bad Wildbad, lies the brewery Foxybräu, where delicious hamburgers and fresh salads were served. After this lovely opportunity to chat and relax, we continued by bus to Enzklösterle to the “Adventure Golf Park,” which spans over 3000 square meters.
The 18 holes of the golf park are idyllically situated – adapted to the natural surroundings and challenging the players’ skills. The game is played on typical Black Forest materials: over wooden logs, a film of water, dry stone walls, or through a rocky field. Perfectly fitting the ambiance, Black Forest cherry cake, apple cream cake, and other delicacies were served with coffee. Afterwards, in high spirits, we returned by bus to Kornwestheim and headed into the weekend.
We asked around the team and gathered some feedback on the outing.
What was your personal highlight of the team day?
Vania (Central Office): The ride home on the bus! – I have never laughed so much. The organization was great, and during mini-golf, the groups were randomly mixed, so I got to meet colleagues whom I don’t usually encounter in my daily work.
Hubert (Technical Sales): My personal highlight was standing in the middle of the bridge and looking down into the valley. It started to sway, and I overcame my fear of heights.
Bastian (Technical Sales): I placed a chair in the creek and waded while the others were still chatting after lunch.
