The European Label Forum (ELF), hosted by FINAT, the leading European association for the self-adhesive label industry, has long been a cornerstone event for networking, knowledge sharing, and forward-looking dialogue in the label sector. Industry professionals and decision-makers gather here to gain valuable insights into current developments, pressing challenges, and emerging trends in label printing and packaging.
This year’s ELF took place from May 21–23, 2025 in Amsterdam, with a strong focus on timely and critical topics: from geopolitical factors, sustainability, and technological innovation—such as the integration of artificial intelligence in label production—to market trends and leadership in a changing business landscape. The diverse agenda, featuring expert talks, interactive workshops, and panel discussions, provided attendees with fresh perspectives and valuable input for the future of the industry.

What’s Next for Europe and the Labeling Industry?
One highlight of the event was the keynote by Ron Keller, former Dutch ambassador to Ukraine, Russia, Turkey, and China, and a recognized expert in international relations and economic affairs. His thought-provoking lecture addressed the geopolitical and socioeconomic challenges Europe faces and how these developments could impact the packaging and labeling industry.
Simon Reuter shared his impressions: “Ron Keller made it clear that our industry is deeply embedded in global dynamics. The way we think and operate must evolve to match today’s realities. This insight also resonates strongly with the transformation journeys in our own business.”
