Managing partners Simon Reuter ad Daniel Sugg congratulate the production manager Carina Hammel for the successfully passed exam.

It was not easy to reconcile the job and the advanced training. Parallel to the everyday work, 14 days of attendance had to be completed within last nine months; their extensive material had to be post processed at home. It was also necessary to cram hard for the exam. But it was worth the effort. Carina Hammel, production manager at robos-labels, has successfully finished the advanced training to “production manager VDI operations manager”, along with another female participant as first women and as the youngest participant.

We have asked Ms. Hammel some questions about it.

Did the training meet your expectations and were there any surprising contents?

Hammel: I could take a lot from the theory for the praxis, knowledge – which I can use here to optimize the procedures and processes in the label manufacturing. The contents were production management, business administration basics, human resources management, change management, quality management and labor law. Actually, the topic of accounting and how much it affects me and what expectations are set to the production manager in this matter has surprised me.

What has contributed the advanced education to your everyday work?

Hammel: I am much more secure in many areas, now I know where to start to change the procedures. If you change one parameter, often many different aspects are involved. Error analysis and also human resources were a big topic. For the management of technical projects we have already developed a good strategy.

How hard was it to reconcile the job and the advanced training?

Hammel: The last four weeks before the exam were exhausting. We had 120 minutes written exam, in which anything from the mandatory modules could have been tested. Luckily, I had a week of educational leave beforehand. Also financially I have been supported very well by robos-labels. .

You and another participant were the first women to complete the advanced education.

Hammel: Yes, the speakers were surprised at first and were really happy that finally also women were there, too.
