For the first time in company’s history, the entire workforce was not only in the same boat as a company, but literally. With the “MS Weinkönigin” the existing college including pensioners departed in the morning at 8.30 o’clock from the Marbach pier and sailed in sunshine to Hessigheim.
On the way we had butter pretzels, sweet pastry and coffee and already on the outward journey colleagues who rather rarely meet in the daily work life got into conversation. Passing by meadows, vineyards and small towns a vacation feeling came up and everyone enjoyed the leisurely ride.
After passing through two sluices, upon arrival in Hessigheim we went on a short hike of about 7 kilometers. The hike was planned by our Sales Team Leader, Frank Laux, who had his hands full keeping the many employees together as they spread over a very long stretch of the trail. Fortunately, no one was lost and everyone arrived at the “Siggi Winery” more or less wet, depending on their personal equipment, as it began to rain at warm temperatures in the meantime. Despite the heavy rain, everyone admired the impressive view over the Neckar offered by the hike.
Back at the winery, the managing directors Simon Reuter and Daniel Sugg gave a short speech and took the opportunity to honor various colleagues and to say a farewell. Afterwards, there was a chance to taste the wines of the winery and eat your fill over a delicious lunch. In addition, it was possible to talk in detail with the winemaking couple Siegfried Mayer and Amanda Eigner about the advantages of the region around the steep rock terraces at the Neckar loop Hessigheim.
Fortunately, the sun had returned in time for lunch and we could sit and rest comfortably in the green around the winery or use various outdoor games.
In the late afternoon we returned to the ship, which brought the staff back to Marbach. On the way there was a raffle with attractive prizes (mostly our customers’ products) and the new collection of robos-labels shirts was presented. The team day was met with great approval all around and shall offer everyone the opportunity for a relaxed exchange of ideas in the coming year again.
